Moniteur d'auto-école hâbleur et sans tact, Harri Pinter, 47 ans, est un éternel adolescent qui ne voit pas les années passer. Au cours de nombreuses soirées arrosées, il ne se lasse pas de ressasser ses exploits au sein du KAC, le club local de hockey sur glace où il a fait jadis des étincelles et dont il entraîne à présent l'équipe des benjamins. De dix ans sa cadette, Inès, sa compagne, se montre clairement insatisfaite de la vie qu'ils mènent. Pour se redonner un élan, après avoir quitté l'entreprise de transport de son père, elle a décidé de reprendre ses études à la fac. Un soir, en rentrant une fois de plus assez éméché d'une soirée arrosée, Harri la surprend dans leur cuisine en pleins ébats avec l'un de ses profs. Furieux, il lui annonce tout de go qu'il la quitte. Peu après, la mère d'un jeune joueur blessé lors d'un entraînement réclame son renvoi du club…
